What is blacklist

With blacklist you can deny write access to your guestbook from certain IP addresses (e.g. 192.168.1.1) and/or domains (e.g. freebok.net).

You can blacklist IP addresses from the Messages (m) section of the Guestbook Management page (read how ( i )). Additionally you can edit the list directly in the Abuse Protection (m) section.

It's possible that the person that you want to block out doesn't have static IP address (same address every time he uses the Internet). This may be because he connects by modem or some other reason. Usually the beginning of the IP address is the same. E.g. writer you want to block has address '192.168.1.1'. After you block that address he writes again from address '192.168.1.4'.

In this case you may blacklist the common part of the address. In the previous example this is '192.168.1.'. After this the whole range of addresses '192.168.1.xxx' is write denied.

Using the blacklist may prevent also many wanted messages. Use it only if you really need it.
