How to use the help pages |
Help search
Most of the time when you need to use the help pages you are
searching an answer to a spesific question. Most of the time the
easiest way to find the answer is to use the help search. In Freebok
Help search is always available on the upper right corner of the
page.
When using the help search the most important thing is to think up
a word that is connected to the problem. The word is used as the
search term and the results you'll get will depend on how descriptive
the term was. E.g. if you have forgotten your password and don't
know what to do next, type "password" to the search field and click
the "Search Help" button.
You will be presented with the titles and links to help pages that
contain the term "password".
The search looks for the search term(s) and their conjugations. If
you search for a term "search", the words "search", "searches",
"searching" etc. will match. If you want to broaden the search
further you can use the * wildcard at the end of the search
term. E.g. search term " home* " will match all words beginning with
the word "home".
The help pages
If you want to familiarise yourself with a spesific subject you can
browse and read the help pages. The help pages have been divided up
to same sections as the Freebok services. E.g. if you are looking for
instructions on how to use the guestbook feature click the
"Guestbooks" link on the top of the page and "Help" link from the
submenu.
The help pages have been divided as follows:

General information about Freebok. Help pages related to user
accounts, passwords and login problems. Help pages that are common to
the other parts of the service (guestbooks, forums).

Help items related to user account information, private messages,
buddies.

Guestbooks ( i )
Information and help items about creating and using guestbooks.

Forums ( i )
Information and help items related to discussion forums.
The help links
The links on the help pages have been color coded based on the link
target. Clicking the link text opens the link to the current window,
clicking the color coded link opens the link to a new window. This
may be useful if the help page contains step by step instructions on
how to do something; keep the instructions on one page and perform the
steps on the other.
