I don't remember my user account password?
Use the form on the Send Password page.
The form is used to send a new password to the private email
address of your user account. The old password cannot be sent as the
passwords are stored in crypted form.
When the new password is sent the old password stays in effect
until you use the new password to log in to your account. This way
you can simply ignore the new password if someone else than you have
requested it by accident.
Sending the password to other email address
If the private email address of your user account is no longer in
use you can send the new password to an alternative address. In this
case in order to make sure that you are the owner of the account
you'll need to provide your birth date and correct answer to the
secret question that you have defined for your account.
If you haven't defined your birth date and the secret question you
have now way of authenticating yourself. The password can only be
sent to the private email address.
Please note that using the Send Password
page is the only way to retrieve the password to your account.
I don't remember my user account name?
If you remember the email address that you used to register the Freebok
account you can request for the Freebok account name to be sent to that
email address (m).
If you have created guestbooks with the user account you can get the account
name using your
guestbook name (m).
Finally, you can search for your information by using the
user search (m). This method will not work
if you have not defined your personal information in the "Freebok home" page, or
if you have defined your privacy settings too high.
If you are unable to get your account name by using these methods you'll
need to create a new account. The old, unused account will be automatically
removed after certain period of time of inactivity.
When I try to log in I get message: "Invalid password". I'm sure I type it correctly.
If the password is generated by Freebok you should copy and paste it directly
from the email application to the password field of the login page. If you
write the password by yourself there is a chance that you misspell it.
Characters like number 1 and letter l are easily mixed especially if the font of
the mail application is small.
If you have changed your password make sure that the CapsLock on the keyboard
is not on and that you write the small and capital letters correctly.
One possible reason for the password mismatch is that you remember or write
your account name incorrectly! The misspelled account name may exist, so you
may not get warning about incorrenct account name, but about the incorrect
password.
If you are still unable to log in to your account you can
send a new password to yorself ( i ) via email.
Why don't my images show up?
Images will not work if you are trying to get them from a service that don't
allow displaying images on a different server than their own. Most, if not all,
free web space providers are defined this way. The problem is not with
Freebok, but with the image host server! Problems have been reported with at
leas the following web space providers:
- Sunpoint
- Angelfire
- Xoom
- Expage
- Geocities
- Brinkster
- Tripod
- envy.nu
It is not possible to use images from these services.
Good indication of this case is when the images seem to be occasionally
working. It means that the images have been loaded to your browser's cache when
you have visited your home page, and when you go to your guestbook the image is
fetched from the cache. If the image is not in the browser cache it will not
work as it cannot be fetched from the server.
